Lego Star Wars
Lego and Star Wars were a winning combination right from the start. Lego building blocks have been a staple of kid's toy boxes for many years now. Lego had a particularly good idea in obtaining the license from Lucas films to produce Lego Star Wars toys.The Lego Star Wars series was introduced 1999 and has been continually added to since then. The Lego line of toys began with figures and vehicles from the trilogy(Episodes IV-VI). Since then new sets and releases have been introduced to cover the earlier prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III).
All the main elements of the Star Wars movies have been recreated in Lego form. The characters are typical Lego figures with square heads and bodies. Slight variations in color and the headwear and costumes distinguish the characters. However,since there is a wide variation in the size,shape and heads of many star wars characters Lego made special molds for the heads which are true to the character. Unique and original molds were created for the Lego Star Wars line. Darth Vader is a good example of this.Star Wars would not be complete without the light sabers so Lego made these also.
The Lego Star Wars line includes all the famous star ships and other vehicles. The Millennium Falcon probably the most popular star wars vehicle,the X-wing fighter,the Imperial AT-ST,speeders and TIE fighters are all available in Lego form. Lego has also produced location sets from various movies to go with the vehicles that were in the movie.
Lego has produced a huge array array of Star Wars items. Their Technic line has had several Star Wars items added to it. The Technics line has more complex parts capable of movement and is more realistic thasn the typical Lego figures. The Ultimate collector series has large and very complex designs in Star Wars material. The Millenium Falcon in this series for instance has over 5000 pieces and is the biggest Lego set ever produced.
The Lego Star Wars video game series is undoubtedly the most popular Lego product ever produced.These games had huge sales and were loved by both Star Wars fans and video gamers in general. The first Lego video game was based on the prequel trilogy, and the second Lego game was based on the original trilogy. The two games were later sold together as one complete Star wars edition.
Lego Star Wars toys, figures and other merchandise are extremely popular with both adults and children. The Lego-star wars combination is one of the great success stories in toy production.
