Symas S107G RC Model Helicopter

The Symas S107G RC model helicopter sells for under $20 on Amazon.com at times, although this price varies up and down a bit. At that price it is a wonderful value compared to some other much more expensive RC model helicopters.  I am not saying that it is better than the more expensive models but simply that the performance it gives is great value. The Symas S107 has only 3 way controls but its performance compares amazingly well with the much more expensive ($150) Blade MCX2 which has 4 way controls. The Syma is fun to fly, perhaps more so than the very smooth performing Blade helicopter. The Syma's performance is somewhat less smooth, and it takes a bit more skill to make it perform at its best, but this simply adds to the fun, and for the price the syma is a great performer.
The blades on the Syma produce a sound like no other model I have seen, and this seems to provide even more enjoyment as the model climbs beautifully and hovers precisely.

The Syma S107G has a solid feeling to it, and the finish detail is excellent and well fitting. The Li-PO battery must be handled properly to perform at its best. This is something which some owners do not realise, and they can ruin the battery quickly by overcharging it. As soon as the battery is fully charged, you should stop charging. Otherwise damage will result and battery life will be shorter. Spare batteries can be purchased for about $5 on Amazon,  and a couple of those are a good investment. The model will fly for about 10 minutes on one charge,  then the battery must be recharged for about 30 to 40 minutes. The battery should be allowed to cool for 15 minutes at least before recharging after use.

The Symas has three different control modes, which can be used to fly it. It can go up/down, using the left throttle control stick. Forward/back and rotate left to right, are controlled with the 4 way right stick. There is no control to provide left to right movement however. The Syma has quite rugged construction compared to some other models and can survive crashes better. Landing the helicopter takes some practice, and crash landings tend to be the rule at first, so the crash survival rate is important.
The Symas S107G is, i n my opinion, a great value, and compares favorably to several other more expensive brands I have tried out.

One of my Syma helicopters has lasted  for 2 years, while surviving numerous crashes. The built in gyro makes flying simple, as it makes the craft so stable and easy to control. It hovers beautifully if you keep the throttle control steady, can be accurately steered in any direction, and is easy to fly without crashing. The experience this model provides, is a bargain for its low price.
