This very well describes what Transformers are all about--a race of mechanical beings from the planet Cybertron which is continually at war with evil.
The following quotation from Sick Mind defines Transformers quite well:
"Transformers: Prime Transformers consist of a mind and body. A Transformer's mind can be transferred to another body using a cortical psychic patch, where it is possible for two minds to occupy the same body. Without a mind, a Transformer body can be kept alive by artificial means, but it is then essentially without personality".--quotation from Sick Mind
The Transformers line of collector toys was introduced by Hasbro in the year 1984 with the original Generation 1 transformers. They were a big success and have continued to grow in popularity sice then. TheTransformer line has had numerous sequels since the introduction, with the latest edition being the sequel to the line of transformers from the 2007 movie. Most of the product line consists of Transformer figures; there are also just a few added non-Transformer accessories such as bases, vehicles and smaller items.

UNICRON
Certainly one of the largest TRANSFORMERS toys ever made with its size of over 1 foot tall. This great mechanical robot figure is thrilling for TRANSFORMERS fans with it's lit-up hands, eyes that glow, and missile firing capability. It takes just a few twists to convert UNICRON into a huge destroyer planet, which has a capacity of up to 27 MINI-CON figures. In TRANSFORMERS lore, UNICRON is the universe's ultimate evil. An embodiment of pure chaos, UNICRON strikes fear into the hearts of DECEPTICONS and AUTOBOTS alike. His only drive is to consume all life, and it is rumored that he has devoured entire solar systems!
This figure does an excellent job of capturing the fearsome reputation of UNICRON. The robot features LED eyes that glow menacingly when the button on his head is pressed down. He's also equipped with two ankle-bound rocket launchers, as well as a secret cannon that's hidden in his chest compartment for sneak attacks. These launchers can fire projectiles when a MINI-CON figure is attached to one of the activation points on UNICRON. UNICRON also offers a number of secret compartments scattered across his body, which he can use to entrap his MINI-CON minions.
Collectors will be pleased by the many adjustments on UNICRON. The main features are a pivotable torso with movable arms, knees, shoulders and legs.
Planet Configuration
UNICRON is convertible into a giant planet. When in planet configuation, he is a completelty different toy--and can store MINI-CON figures. UNICRON can in fact store an entire mini army of MINI-CONS with his 27 attachment points. MINI-CONS are used to control various actions while UNICRON is in planet configuration: he can fire his missiles, go into defensive style and various other modes.
